“Incredible — it sounds really good. The sensitivity adjustments made by VT have helped a lot in my work, because I no longer need to apply as much gain to achieve the desired sound. That also reduces the caption of unwanted noise caused by frictions between the capsule and the actor’s clothing. I’m super happy with it..many thanks to VT team!” Juan Carlos Maldonado / sound engineer

Have you ever been skiing in Switzerland? Perfectly groomed slopes, reliable infrastructure, friendly and impeccable service, and that atmosphere of unwavering confidence that everything is exactly as you've dreamed.
VT Voice Technologies is a Swiss company whose neckband and headband microphones I've been using for over a decade. Initially, I bought a single VT401. I was curious how it worked. Within a few days, I had purchased nine VT401s, four VT500s, and six VT Duplexes. I still use them to this day, and they're the heart of my audio system. In the meantime, I also bought a VT401 and its improved version, the VT403. Of course, I also have microphones from other well-known and respected brands. Each microphone has its advantages and disadvantages. I use them, analyzing which one would be best suited for the task at hand.
Three weeks ago, I received a call. The kind Marcin Fronczak informed me that there was a new star in the Voice Technologies lineup: the VT406WA! This microphone is remarkably similar to the VT403. It's only externally similar, but the internals are completely different. The frequency range is 20-20,000 Hz and the noise level is reduced to -31.5 dB. The manufacturer focused on perfect speech reproduction, which is crucial in film and television production.
I tested the VT406WA microphone on the set of a bank commercial. Luckily, there were two actors performing. This was a perfect opportunity to compare the new VT406WA with its predecessor, the VT403. After recording, I uploaded the raw audio to a ProTools session. My professional integrity prevents me from choosing a clear winner. There were two actors, two different voices. I couldn't swap microphones. The sound from the VT406WA seemed fuller and clearer. I think Voice Technologies achieved its goal.
In summary, The new VT406WA microphone is a refined and well-thought-out design, based on the extensive experience and precision for which Voice Technologies is renowned. Buying this microphone is like going skiing in Switzerland. Guaranteed weather and satisfaction guaranteed.
